Help! first time hatching!

Four days ago they were all fertile and growing I don't think they are dead knowing how involved and focused they are sitting on the nest

If they were dead, she would completely kick them out, she wouldn't necessary go and sit on them again.

Now Question: I believe we all stressed the importants for her to be left alone.. So why the need to candle again??

I haven't bothered them but I think it is the commotion when I let my dogs outside they sniff ALL AROUND the coop and frighten the ducks so they moved to the middle of the coop

Have any or your ducks done this? I just think that they are just "better safe than sorry" situation

GOOD point didn't think of that.
The first time my white duck sat on eggs she insisted on sitting on a nest of 29 eggs!!! She kicked out like 4 and I just kept putting them back in until eventually I decided to candle and the 4 were rotten. She ended up only hatching 8 because there were just too many for her to sit on and she was a first time mom..... Now all my ducks do that by kicking out the rotten eggs.

So is it done that they over the nest a little farther back but are still sitting on it? And I will send pics later when it stops snowing
