Help first timer

I am on day 20 and my silkie kicked one of her eggs out until the point it was cold to the touch then she put it back under her? Dies that mean it wont hatch. There are only 2 eggs left under her out of 6

Usually they kick them out when they are "bad" or it may have happened when she was rotating them. When dealing with broodys I find you always have that chance.

Oh that was the egg I really had hopes for I see an air sack and a big black area

never give up...I've successfully hatched cold abandoned eggs in the past.

Definately put it back under...

If it is at day 20 then there will be no huge detrimental effects... a book I have on ducks states that eggs can even benefit from cooling for short periods...

if it was cold and the egg cooled quickly... then the developing chick goes into suspended animation... I am unsure whether this is true for later stages however...

But my rule is if it doesnt smell... put it back...
