i work at a camp with too many roosters, and this poor hen has had her back feathers and

tail ripped off by a roo. She smells really, really bad and I suspect has lice, but I’d hesitate to dust her because of her sore pink back (there are visible sore spots). I made her an apron but she pulled it off. Mostly she just stands in a corner of a shed as if she’s given up, though she still eats and drinks, and has body weight. Her poop is watery and yellow today.

Where would you start? Thank you in advance!

I agree with chickassan. Get her away from the roosters provide a place where she can stay for a good while she’ll need time to heal. Get your doctoring’ supply’s ready. I used a solution of dialouted betadine for my girl. I used a hooked tipped syringe to flush out her wounds. I would treat the wounds until no more puss, that’s probably why she smells. It’s possible for her to bounce back she needs some TLC. Poor thing.
