Help for Newbies - definitions

Hi, everyone! Double-Newbie here. New to the forum as well as to the (apparently; if some of the thread comments here are any indication!) wonderful yet psychotic world of chicken life! Of course, that would include the chicks themselves as well as their human trainees.
How do you 'old timers' feel about a central thread for common as well as obscure definitions for folks such as myself? While Google is but a new tab (in most browsers) or a right-mouse click away -see example below-, a real-world application and/or definition would likely be far more helpful to a newbie such as me coming from eggsperts such as yourselves!

Ideas? Suggestions? Is there something already here that I've been unable to uncover?

Example: Chooks:
a BTW here regarding the Look Up and/or Search with Google features are likely to yield TOTALLY different results and cause an understanding of the term to be hilariously inappropriate for a definition having to do with chickens!



In closing, does anyone beside myself see a pressing need and, more importantly, would anyone be willing to contribute an effort toward creating a central thread for nothing but definitions of common and frequently appearing BYC terms and updates as they arise from new users?

first, welcome.

second there are entire threads.......hundreds........no, thousands of posts that deal with nothing but the inappropriate double meaning of these chicken specific terms.....they are loads of fun.

lastly, I think you have a grand idea, and will more than likely fit in nicely on the regular chicken threads, or the racier of them.

First and foremost, BertS, thank you for the welcome.
Next and ranking right up there with number First, They "Race" Chickens!?!
Kidding, of course.

I am trying to take a bit more time for research when the weather forces me to do so. Lately, we've been dumped on with snows and single-digit temps and it's forcing us to remain indoors quite a bit. It is our plan to put up a chicken moat/run around our garden plot this year. I've been 'lurking' and browsing many threads on the BYC forums and am picking up quite a bit of info.

Majority of the terms and abbreviations seem to come easily but many do not. Thus my suggestion above. Being an old now retired Information Technology (IT) geek and having a LOT of web experience, I am hopeful I might lend a hand with the knowledge base here, which seems quite extensive I might add!
