Help?? Friend Tried to...

...commit suicide. She wasn't at school the other day. When she came back she told everyone she was in the hospital 'cause she was sick. But she told me she over dosed.
Her sister (which is VERY close to her) doesn't even know. I'm the only person she's told. Yes, her parents and the counselor know. I don't know what to do... HELP. I fear for her life.

Honey, you're talking to the wrong people.

Talk to her parents and see what advice they have. Talk to a counselor at school who knows both of you. Talk to your own parents. Even call the local suicide prevention service and talk to people there.

I'm sure people here would care about you both but no one here knows either of you or any of the circumstances so we wouldn't have anything useful to offer. But people close to you do. For one thing, they could give you a big hug and help you to see and talk to your friend while she figures herself out.

Best of luck with it. It's a heavy burden to bear and you shouldn't have to bear it alone.

I dont know her parents... and I have no idea what the # is to our local suicide prevention, if my town has one.
Shd told me not to tell anyone but I HAD to so I told my closest friend. We asked to go to the counselor and the teacher said no because it was "taken care of".

Joe, Sorry this happened to your friend and i know it must be scary for you. Maybe you can get her some flowers or a book and get your parents to take you to visit her. It will show her people do care about her. Hugs.

The people there will understand what you're going through and they may have some very constructive ideas for you and for your friend.

You're a good friend to care so much. Get in touch with some people who can really offer you some help.

Meanwhile, I'm sorry your school counselor didn't understand your need. The people above WILL.
