HELP! Goat got into Chicken Grower/finisher and possibly in labor OR Bloat?

Two placentas is not typical was it long and stringy and hanging? I am glad she has passed the placenta though. I have not had that big of a size difference but was told it is not typical with twins. You usually see it with 3 or more. It depends on how weak she is but it sounds like she is going to be ok. The BOSE is usually given to weak kids because this indicates a selineum deficientcy and will make her stronger faster. If you can not get BOSE from the vet there is a gel you can buy some TSC's sell it but ours does not. I have to order it. Sometimes one kid will take all the nutrients and the other does not get much. I had one born weak and a little bow legged. She bounced back and was healthy and strong after about one month.

I have some nutridrench around here somewhere.

I got little doeling to take in about 6 ounces of Colostrum, the Buckling's sound asleep.

The Doelings perked up and is now heabutting and trying to nurse.. Only problem is she's trying it on momma's head, chest, leg.. Anything that isn't an udder!

I milked momma out a bit and now that her udders aren't nearly dragging on the ground.

And the 'first' one, I think, was just the sacs to the babies. Then the 'second' one was actual placenta.

It's been a while since she's had them, so I'm not sure if she'll have any more... 30 minutes seems like a LONG time inbetween babies.

Stand behind the doe. Put your arms around her and clasp your hands together under her belly right in front of the udder. Push up sharply. If there are more babies you should be able to feel them as they come back down. They feel like hard lumps.

She's done if she passed the placenta. Don't forget you are dealing with minis, so 6 oz is quite a bit if milk for your little one. Did you decide you are going to bottle them? I don't envy you having to get up all night if you are, lol. So happy for you! Did you get to witness the birth? And the weight difference isn't all that uncommon. Happens quite a bit, and 95% of the time the doeling is the smaller one.

I came out and the buckling had just been passed, his face had been cleaned of slime. I didn't think, at the time, she'd have more since all the videos I watched had them right after another.

So then I moved them from the kidding pen (of sorts) to a better lighted area. Then she laid down and SHOT out the Doeling. One push and she was done.

She didn't lick the doeling, too focussed on the buckling, so I had to get her taken care of. It took her a minute to breath, but I got her. (Had to hold her upside down and thump her chest)

THEN I had tea lick her off. by shoving her in her face. That's when the doeling started crying (thank goodness).

I sort've wanna bottle feed, but sort've don't. It's hard to say. I'm thinking the bucklings gonna take to it easier than the doeling, who needs all the milk she can get. Plus, if I decide to keep him, he'll be a nice friendly buck.

If you are going to leave her with Tea then you just have to keep showing her where the teat is and they catch on pretty fast. If you are going to bottle feed you need to get her to take the bottle or it is going to be harder the longer she stays on Tea. Good luck

She seemed to catch on towards the end, so that was pretty good.

I'm not sure what colors the babies are. The buck is black with white spots, but on his chest he's got two brown spots. Are those moonspots?

The doeling didn't get any spots. Her shoulders/neck are back with her belly/flank being brown. With some brown/black striping on her face and a bit of white.

HOLY MOLY! I just milked tea to get food for the buckling.

She gave more from HALF her udder than momma gives all day. I didn't think it was possible! I'mm get a bigger jar (I used a clean coffee mug at first) and try and milk her out so I can freeze some of it.

Just.

WOW! What a big difference it is! I may have to keep that doeling after all, if her momma's gonna be this good of a milker!
