I have a goose here that was hit by a car tonight around 8pm.. I have it in a quiet place. I think it's pelvice is broken, in fact I'm pretty sure of it.. Could feel bones moving around there.. I have never had a situation like this before.. What do I do? Please, Please HELP!!

I would call a vet in the A.M and see what they have to say, but I think that if the pelvice is broke there is not much you can do for her (I hope I am wrong about that) if there is some thing you can do I hope it works and she heals up good.

Very sorry to hear about your goose

Does your Goose appear to be in severe pain or shock? Is she drinking or eating? Can she stand or walk on her own? With people, if they have a cracked or broken pelvis they put them on bed rest and pain medication. Don't give up too soon. Perhaps someone could give you the dosage for aspirin (check BYC archives). I would continue to keep her quiet with easy access to fresh water and food along with pain medication and just watch her. Do you have a local Vet that would see her? There are so few Poultry Vets around. please let us know how she is doing.

No vet here to take the goose to. It has a small tub of water and food. I will let you know how it is doing, 'm not even sure at this time of the morning but the goose is next on my to do list for the morning.. First had to be to get the kids up and ready for school.. I will let you know if it made it through the night soon. I sure hope it did!

any update? If it were me i would be calling around. In an emergency there is bound to be a vet who will see the goose, especially when hit by a car. University vet programs are also an option.
