I was out watching my birds, when all of a sudden one of my geese who was perfectly fine not even 2 minutes earlier, started holding it's foot up and almost tipping over. Husband and I picked her up to take a look and I found a HUGE stinger. I removed the stinger and the venom was still coming out. Definitely NOT bumblefoot, both feet look beautiful. What has me concerned now is that within minutes, the goose started panting and drooling.
Any thoughts or ideas would be REALLY helpfull.
Thank you

If she gets anyworse, and you are able, maybe try a local vet. sit the foot in cold water and put her some where she can swim so she can cool down. Hope she gets better soon

Just an update. She stopped drooling and panting shortly after I posted last <huge sigh of relief>. Still limping, but not nearly as bad as she was.

Ok, just wanted to throw in an update here. Just in case someone else has this happen. Checked goose this morning ans she is fine

. She is walking as if nothing ever happened to her. So, if your goose or duck suddenly goes lame and then starts acting funny, check for a stinger. We have alot of clover, vetch, and trefoil blooming all over our yard, so I suspect that is how she got nailed. Glad I looked as closely as I did at her foot, I could have easily missed the stinger.
