IM (intramuscular) Injections

All intramuscular injections should be given in the breast muscle towards the front of the bird. Never give injection in the leg or thigh. Needle should be inserted at a sharp angle and inserted about 1/4". Be careful not to go all the way to the breast bone. Remember to pull back on plunger to check for blood. If you see blood, redirect needle and try again.

If it were my turkey I would try to figure out if Tylan can be given under the skin, and I would give a 24.5 pound turkey 2.25 ml twice a day under the skin. I would also look into whether or not it could be given orally and possibly give 2.45 ml orally three times a day.

The one time I used it I gave it in the breast muscle and it caused muscle damage, so I wouldn't give it in the muscle.

Regarding orally... a couple of people have been told by vets that it shouldn't be given orally because it can burn the esophagus, but I know a few people that have given it orally and have not seen any adverse reactions.

There was a person in the peafowl form that gave it orally twice a day to her chick, and that chick was better in two days. This is not a pet, right? Maybe try it orally?

I looked seems like I need to give it 1.98 ml 2-3 times a day in breast. But people are all over the scale on oral, inject muscle or under skin.
