HELP Guinea fowl missing

this is a last resort on the behalf of my stepdad who is devastated. He raised 15 guinea fowl at his house which is located on about 10 acres. He is very meticulous and followed all instructions including letting 2 guinea out at a time for a while to get them acclimated. They stayed around for about a week and then one day all were gone except for one. That was two days ago and there is no sign of them. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Even if it is that they are gone forever....he is out posting signs :-(

Guineas have a tendency to roam over a large area. Tell your dad not to give up hope; there's a good chance they will show up. Any tall trees close by? Try looking there in the late evening. Good luck.

I know of no way to draw them back in unless your step dad used a certain call while feeding them. You didn't say how old the birds are. If they are still quite young check out any buildings they could get into as night approaches. If they are young keets they probably got lost while roaming; check any area they could use as a roost. Older fowl will go for a high spot; younger keets would go to roost where they could depending on their age. Younger guineas would not have roamed as far as mature birds would have. Tell your step dad to listen for their calls. Just about anything sets them off to cackling loudly.
