I have a comfort chick brand brooder. I plugged it in yesterday and checked today, and it is not very warm, only about 80° under there. I assume that after year of usage it’s just given out. 😡 I have a couple little quail to put under there (first time hatching quail). Do you recommend that I go purchase in the heat lamp? Or has anyone had any luck getting one of those brooders to work again? I looked for a help number or email online but I couldn’t find any. The site only has instructions.

Also how long can the quail stay in the incubator until I get the heating situation sorted out? They have been in there for at least 24 hours at this point.

i wouldnt wait too long .. any incandecent bulb on a lamp or a fixture can be made to work if secured properly .. i use a 60w incandecent because im not a big fan of jacking my light bill up with a 250w heat lamp for a month lol .. i know .. cheap skate ..a 60w needs to be secured about 12" off the bottom on one far side of the box for baby chicks ...

Just get a different bulb or use a small heater for now till you get the lamp
