One of our hens went broody & has been sitting on the clutch of eggs for 25 days now, we've had some really cold weather so knew the eggs could take longer to develop & upon candling they looked like they were coming along nicely so we've left them. Today I candled them again & we also float tested them as well thinking they were all gone.
Lo & behold we saw 4 moving & heard one peeping but now I'm concerned that they're going to have problems hatching because I've messed with them.
Should I check on them frequently to assist if necessary or will the hen know how to adjust them if need be?
Also as I understand it the one we heard peeping should hatch within 24 hours, is that right?
And how much longer should we wait before assuming no more are going to hatch?
Any other advice or suggestions?
The suspense & all these questions are killing me!
