HELP HELP HELP!!! They're not hatching!

Also if you can keep the egg level instead of upside down and move the light to the air cell instead it might help see things a bit better movement wise. What you would be looking for is shadow moving at what would be the bottom of the air cell then. It can be hard to see and sometimes it’s only a slight twitch.

Ok I think they are just regular mallards, do you really think they are dead, what should I do now then? I was also wondering is any of you knew what the shadowy shape was that you can see was in the air cell I think???

The veins looks brown and bruised areas get on the egg sometimes when they die. If you see no bright red veins or movement, gently open the aircell end of one egg. You should see a white membrane kind of forming to the ducking. Use a qtip with vaseline, oil, neosporin (without pain reliever) or even just water to lightly moisten it. This will help you see if their are veins or movement. If there are veins or movement, stop and put it back in the incubator. I think the don't look alive but it's hard to tell if you are not there in person.

Duck eggs are tricky. My first hatch I only got 1 out. Next I got them all to hatch. Then all. Then only 2 out of 17 viable ducklings. I know how I messed up that time. But anyway. Tricky.
