HELP, HELP I SCREWED UP.. he's still alive

I did a quick candling on the 11th one and he is still alive, I can see a slight corner of the membrane pulsating. i think I will give him more time before interveening. I guess he's just a little bit slower then the rest..

Are the rest done hatching, or do you still have one zipping?
No they are not done, I have one working his way out right now. If the humidity stays at 85 I don't think the 11th one will make it to much longer. I'm not sure how to get it down, if I take the water out it may go down to much and it will definitely shrink wrap..

i think I will just play this one out and hope that the 11th one can still make it out. I have a feeling though he maybe upside down and that is why he's taken longer to make any progress. If that's the case, I'm sure he's not going to make it. DANG it and he was the one wiggling LIKE crazy the other day..

You guys may disagree with this but I think I'm going to move the 9 ducks out so that the humidity can get to right degree and let the 11th one just take his time and do he's thing, they are rolling the eggs around, picking at the 10th who is desparately trying to get out and raising the humidity. All 9 are just too much for the other two that are trying to work on there escape.. If this fails I will feel horrible, if this works out great, I think I will reward myself with a bananna split. LOL...

Well...if it was me, I'd do the same....but with the understanding that #10 may get a little stuck to the membrane and need assistance. I would open the bator only enough to grab babies out, and be quick about it. I'm not sure why #11 is not up with the others, and may need assistance, as well. Now this is IMHO, and what I would do....you need to do what is best for you and your situation.

Well I'm not really concern about number 10 because he is making progress, in fact he's just about out when I finally took all the others out. he just needed one more kick with the leg and boom he's free. It's number 11 that has me concern. I know i was told call ducks can take 26 to 27 days and today is 28 so i will give number 11 at least another 24 hours to make a little more progress. if by tomorrow nothing, then i think I may interveen that is if I get brave enough. After interveening with that first one, my fear seems to kick in..

well number 11 did not make it. He was totally backwards. His membrane had turned white but he wasn't going any where's in the position he was, he was much smaller then the rest so I'm sure that didn't help him either. Poor little guy, no banana split for me.. I seen that he wasnt pushing on the membrane any more opened him up an sure enough that's when I discovered he was gone and backwards...

I'm sorry it's so hard to lose them, but now you can focus on the 10 that did make it. Congrats on a great hatch..
