I went out to check my silkie hen with her new chicks and she had attacked one of the chicks and pushed it away. It's cold and has been pecked in the head. There is some blood there. I have it under a heat lamp right now but don't know if it's going to make it.

Keep it warm and do the best you can for it. If that is the only one that she attacked..I would check chick carefully, there is probably something just not right with it. If she attacked others, then the problem is most likely her.

She hatched the other two chicks yesterday and they were all dry this one I finished hatching out in the house as she had left the other eggs in the nest. I have 4 more in my hatcher. My other silkie hen would take them no matter what.

My guess is also, that something is wrong with the chick. You might not be able to tell for a while, but somehouw the hens can.
Acouple of years ago I had two hens sharing a nest. They both picked on one chick, I rescued it. About a week later I noticed that it's beak was crossing. She became my pet house chicken. I ended up tube feeding her.

The chick didn't make it.
