I have a 2 1/2 year old Buff Orpington who is the sweetest chicken in the world. In December she got an impacted crop and I had a vet do surgery on her and she removed a bunch of Pistach leaves from her crop. We have four big trees on our property.

I also have a Jersey Giant and an Andalusian and I see them eating leaves and they've never been sick.

Well, this week the BO stopped eating and I found her crop all big and squishy and the vet was able to flush out a bunch of leaves again. Grrrrrr.....

I know most people would just cull. But I just have the three hens. They are pets and I love them all. I can't cull her.

What else can I do? I raked up as many leaves as I could. But these are little leaves and the reality is, there are plenty tucked here and there that she could eat.

Do you think putting ACV in their water would help?

I also picked up a flock block which I'll put out in their run when she's better and maybe she's just board and this will help. I hope.

Any other suggestions would be most appreciated.

would mulching blades on your mower help? leaf blower? find out whats in them that they are attracted to. maybe something lacking in their diet. i dont think i have seen mine eat leaves before. is their nuts there? i have one of those trees but it is a baby tree i planted and far from where they roam. maybe i should pull it up. hmm...
