Just gone out to the coop to check for eggs, noticed a very long egg with no shell, just a soft skin with what appears to look like an umbilical cord attached about 4 inches long??
Does anyone know what may be causing this???

I got one of those from hen in my previous flock. It's like a premature egg that got laid way before it was ready. My hen got the daylights scared out of her not long before she laid her "water balloon". She was acting funny for awhile and then dropped the egg in just outside our door while we were watching her. She was fine afterwards. I think in our case the cause was definitely stress related.
