I've never raised Silkies, but from what I understand they can be very difficult to sex, especially at this young age...you might not know if they are male or female until they either crow or lay an egg.

Whatever they are, hope you're enjoying them!

Welcome!

As N F C has mentioned, Silkies are notorious for being difficult to sex and even the experts get it wrong on occasions.

You could post some pics on the Silkie Thread but they may also tell you that you need to wait for a while longer: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/297632/silkie-thread

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Silkie is too young to sex with any accuracy. Four to five months is a better time. Though some cannot be sexed till they crow or lay eggs.

Thank you all so much for your replies! I love my babies so much! I'm just very anxious to find out exactly what they are lol but either way I'll love them just the same!
