I am trying everything. I have tried peoples ideas so far nothing. But I really appreciate everyones help. No answer is wrong. When it's this bad, I'll try almost everything to try to get her better.

Thanks

I just read your post, as I have just posted a similar problem. My hen is also unstable to walk but is eating and drinking and trying to get around. Could you read mine and let me know if yours started out this way? It's recently posted under Medical Advice Needed, Mareks, cocci or ???...

Thanks,
Tara

I hope your beautiful one gets better. In my experience they usually have green poop when close to death. Since her poop seems normal, that's a good sign. I'd stay with the antibiotics, poly-visol.
Corid for cocci is sold at feed stores, Tractor Supply Store. Look in the phone book for one close to you. Just because there's no blood doesn't mean she's free of cocci.

I'm so sorry. I've been through the same situation...you're not sure what they have, try everything, and they pass away anyway.
Just remember you did everything you could possibly do. She is so very lucky to have you as her "mom". If she passes in the night, remember, in the short time you had her, you helped her feel as comfortable as possible. You are a wonderful, caring person.

Thanks, I just fed her and watered her again. I will let everyone know tomorrow what the outcome is.

I'm late to the thread, but you mentioned that she seemed cold - if she is sick she may need a heat lamp or some other source of warmth available. Good luck.

I have been going through a similar problem with a hen i rescued last Fall. She is a Red double Frizzle and i dont know her age, but she is not young. For the last week, she stands up and its like her legs freeze in the straight position like a persons legs. She then falls over and thrashes around trying to right herself. When i see this happen she cant seem to fix herself. If i try to help her, she stiffens them even more in a panic. If i pet her on the head and ear she relaxes and the legs relax enough to settle her down. I have an appt tomorrow for my cat at the vet and i am thinking it might be best to ask the vet to put mama frizzle down. I wish i knew what was going on. She can barely get around/walk, and i have to bring the water to her. I am afraid she is going to die very slowly since i am not her to hand feed her 24/7. The only thing i have read so far is that she might have osteoporosis

If you have read anything about this in your research on this subject, please let me know. I dont have much time left to make this decision tomorrow and its not easy. She is a sweety and i dont want her to suffer. She has ZERO signs of anything other than her body stiffening up.

I hope she is ok, but don't give up. I went through exactly what your going through with a rooster. He ate angel of death mushroom, which causes paralysis. He eventually pulled through but it took some time, he was paralyzed for over a week. And recovery took another week. Another cause also is fungus and most areas have been experiencing high humidity. The birds breath in the fungus and it makes its way to the brain through the lungs causing lesions on the brain, which causes what looks like a stroke. A good symptom of this is the legs straight out in front of the chicken once it fully sets in. They will have normal looking poo with fungus as it affects the brain not the digestive tract. Make sure to give 400 units of vit E along with the polyvisol twice a day until she starts to recover, from what I understand it helps with tissue regeneration.
