Help hen switched between two nests!

This is the first time we ever left some eggs for our broody chicken to sit on... she had been there for about a week and then after there was another group of eggs in the nesting box next to her she switched!!! Are the other eggs bad now??? What should I do??

How long was she sitting on the eggs in the second box? Is she still on them? If not is she back in the first box now? The first eggs might be okay depending on how long she has been/was off them.

My son said she was switching back and forth yesterday. She’s only left the original ones for the past day I think. They feel cold tho :/

Agreed with the candling, although I don't think it would work best to put them both under her. One batch would be a week ahead of the others and she might leave the other eggs once the first chicks hatched. If she has only been sitting on the second eggs a day and the first eggs are okay I would say stick the first eggs under her and collect all the other eggs. If she has only been sitting on the other eggs for a day they should still be okay to eat.

When I candled them I saw two that had large masses on the side and the others just dark shadows. I don’t see any veins in any. They are darkish color eggs so I’m not sure if I just can’t see what’s going on or what. Maybe I’ll do that w the two?

Do you think once other chickens lay eggs again she will keep leaving them? I was giving her a shot but we can have her just keeping them all lol

I would say collect the eggs often. If her nest is the only nest with a bunch of eggs on it she will stay there. I have never had problems with hens leaving a big pile of eggs to go sit on an empty nest. How many chickens do you have?

We have 21. They usually lay them in different boxes and the past two days they just picked a box and all laid in that one! Lol

We will get them and make sure she doesn’t have anything else to lay on. The ones she left felt cold. If she left them overnight are the goners?
