Help! Hens butthole huge looks torn filled with maggots and I think I see her insides 😄

I would continue to soak her in the warm Epsom salts water or soapy water twice a day until all maggots are gone. Remove any that you can, and wash off any dead skin. Vetericyn spray or chlorhexidene/Hibiclens and water can be used for disinfection. Permethrin spray from a feed store will kill maggots on contact. If she accidentally crushed an egg under her, or had poop stuck to her bottom, those can be reasons for the maggot infestation. Flystrike is serious, but she has a good chance to recover with care. Here is a good article on flystrike:

Update! After getting her out of the bath I flipped her over and examined her over better. Realized I had it allll wrong it wasn't her vent at all... She had been sliced open by something 😩! Huge gash in her belly God knows how she got it but I called my vet immediately and thankfully she was able to get her in right away she cleaned her up real good and stitched her all up. So she'll be staying in the house for the next few weeks on antibiotics and daily cleanings with a betadine solution and another vet visit in 5-7 days. So happy that she's going to be fine but feel so bad that it happened at all and that I hadn't noticed sooner.. poor girl.. anywho thanks everyone for the help y'all are always there when I need help ā¤ļø

Chickens are sooo good at hiding when they are sick or injured. It's a good thing that you soaked her and was able to clean things up enough to see what's going on. It's even better that you had a vet available to help! Chickens are so resilient. I'm sure she will heal just fine, but I'm sending good vibes anyways! <3

Thank you so much 😊 I sure hope so! And yeah my vet is a superhero! She deserves a medal or a key to the city, something! Definitely making her a nice card and giving her some eggs!
