My 3 year old americauna still is sick from this morning. I decided to soak her butt and check with finger in vent to see if i felt an egg stuck. Nothing! When i put her back in her pen I noticed her vent opeing and then some dark red bulging coming about an inch and then went back in. I don't know if this means prolapse or is actually her inards. HELP any suggestions. Still pooping whitish poop and a little clear slime came out of her. I don't believe she's eating, her keel bone is real pronounced.

Post # 49. Treatment is about the same for a chicken, the only difference is you don't leave the chicken to swim, lol.

Vitamin E, Calcium with vitamin D. the E shrinks the tissue allowing it to go back inside and not protrude, the Calcium with D gets the muscles working properly so if there is an egg it will help her pass it. As will the warm water.

If you had another thread going with other symptoms, I am unaware of them and am only able to answer about the prolapse. If she is drinking, make sure you add vitamins and electrolites to her water. If she is eggbound she probably doesn't much feel like eating right now. As long as she's drinking don't worry about the food yet.
