Hello I need help with my pet chicken :/

The past week my chicken has appeared rather sick and lethargic. She'd been stood around the area with her head down and her eyes closed and stood very still. I was unsure what was up with her and I came to the conclusion that she was either sick or could be dying. However about 2 days ago she could no longer stand up and was laying down on her side so I was sure she was going to die soon, but I wasn't sure what was up, I put her away from the other chickens and kept food and water nearby and such to keep her comfortable...But today I took her outside and it came to my attention that she had an infected wound on her comb that was filled with maggots. I washed the wound out and got rid of the maggots from the wound but when I put her down she had diarrhoea. So I checked her vent and it was crawling with maggots - I truly don't understand how I never saw them there was so many and it seems all around her vent is completely infected and red. I cut all of the thick poopy feathers off and rested her behind on some tissue. But I fear I've left it too late and she's going into shock...:/ Her pupils dilate a lot and she seems to gasp a lot.

I'm unsure what to do now :'/

Hi, I had a chicken with a similar problem. It had a prolapse and then flies started to fly around its vent area a clear sign that maggots were to come. I pushed the prolapse in again and again but it wouldn't stay. I ended up taking her to the vets but they put her down

sorry to hear about yours but just remember that there's still hope!!!

Yeah...She died the day after I posted this - I feel it's something people really should check up on. A horrible way to die :(
