Ok so I was walking one day and I found a little chicken up against the tree shivering so I picked it up she snuggled next to me and we've been buddies since mind you my dog passed away that day and I was sad so I guess you can say she kind of saves me took my pain away and now I'm focused on her but I'm homeless she keeps me warm I keep her warm and questions I don't know what to feed her she's cold I keep her inside with me in a abandoned laundry room but I don't know what to feed her she's eating basically what I eat can eat I don't know what's good for her to eat how to make things ready to eat if I can get some help and assistance with that that would be great

Depending on the actual age of the chicken it can eat a lot of human food that is not greasy or salty. I feed my chickens a lot of treat bread along with feed formulated for them. I get discounted bread from a bakery outlet for next to nothing now and they love it. Today they were getting sprouted grains bread that is certified organic for about 60¢ a loaf. I wish I had an easy answer for you under your circumstances but I just do not have a way of knowing what would be doable for you and your chick. I'm so glad that you have each other though. Welcome to BYC.

Hi, I'm sorry for your situation. :hugs
Your feathered friend needs grain. Truly, she needs proper chicken feed but I don't know how you would go about getting that for her. Let me give this some thought and meanwhile, thank you for joining BYC. Can you tell us where in this world you are licated, in grneral? For examole I sm in the SE area of Missouri. We don't need to know exactly but if we have some idea of where you are it will help us to help you.

I think if you try to get the highest quality food for you and her, with lots of lean protein, grains and vegetables, she might do fine. It sounds like you each found each other for a reason.

If you have any troubles or want to share any stories, successes or failures, feel free to post them here!
