Help! How do I take care of a weak duckling?

First off, it's a Muscovy baby duck who is probably around a a week and a half, maybe two. I saw the duck with its family yesterday and he's the smallest one, the runt of the group. I noticed that he was sleeping on his own and was far away from his family, so I bent down to see if he was okay and he quacked and moved closer to his family.
I was actually walking my dog while I saw him, and then the mama duck walked away with her ducklings and he followed them, but he was falling behind. I let them go because I had to keep walking my dog, but then I found them again and he was in the middle of the road on his own, even though he was following his family. I jogged towards him because I was afraid a car might run over him and he joined his family again, but he was tripping and falling a little bit behind again. I had to let them go and I went home very worried about the little guy.
This morning I saw the family and I didn't see him, so I thought he had already been left behind, but when I came back from school he was sill there with his family, sleeping. I let them rest and gave them some food.
I was watching them through the window and saw another mama duck with her babies approaching and she scared away the ducks that weren't hers, including the runt. He was facing up and didn't even bother to sit properly, which got me very worries, so I went back out to see if he was okay and he was; he sat normally after I approached them.
I went back in and I was still tjithink about the duckling. After a few minutes, I check on the again and saw him resting by himself once again, so I slowly approached him and caught him because I was getting very worried.
I still am a newbie on ducks and the only thing we have been giving him is sugar water because I'm not sure what else we could give him. We have basic medicated food for baby chicks we give them, which I don't know whether is okay or not but I suppose it is because it's for poultry. My mother told me I should put some of that food in water and let it dissolve along with the sugar but I'm not sure whether that's fine.
Please help!

You are doing everything great. Keep up with the sugar water and chick feed is fine. If he does not drink on his own use an eye dropper. A little scrambled egg is always good. Give him access to warmth and you have it all covered.

Thank you! He seems to be doing better! Would it be okay if we got him a heating pad?
