Feeding Indian runner/ mallard cross with wet chick crumbs and think it may have developed a niacin deficiency. Purchased some human supplement tablets but confused at how much the duck needs in its food/water. Duck is approximately three weeks old. I’ve also took a picture of the supplement label.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you.

Well if 6 tablet = 3000mg then you should break 1 tablet in quarters. 1/4 a tablet a day should be more than enough (125mg)
I would not recommend this dosage after the issue is resolved. For maintenance you should get some regular Brewer's yeast or Nutritional yeast.
This isn't a flush free kind is it?

Hey Cayuga momma, thank you for responding to my post! I really appreciate your help :). I’ve not heard of a flush free kind so I would assume that’s a no? How would I know?

It would say flush free on the container. Don't get that kind and don't get extended release.

TSC has one that’s really good 1 ml daily. Over a yummy treat. View attachment 1760420 It says injectable but we give orally for our birds.
Yes, and I discovered yesterday that they changed the label design so it might no look exactly like this but should say the same on it.

Thanks for all your help!

The issue isn’t resolved yet. The duck was almost better and I started to try and supplement with brewers yeast but the duck has got a lot worse again. What’s the best method to treat this in your previous experience? I’ve been looking into niacin tablets as suggested.
