Help! How to Keep Feed Costs Down for Profit?

My feed I buy also cost 15 a bag but it is not TSC. I will not buy that TSC brand ever again. It was a big waste of stinky money. They ate twice as much feed in half the time because they were not getting enough nutrition. This was when my hens were chicks. My first brand they were going threw 1 bag a month. Then I bought the TSC brand and that lasted just over a week. Poo stank to high heaven too from it. Went right back to other brand and was back to once a month and no stinky poo.

I now travel over 30 miles to get feed just so I do not have to buy TSC or Purnia. My hens still do not eat a full bag in a month even in winter but then I supplment with scratch.

Feed pellets rather than crumbles, feed table scraps, feed plenty of greens, anything from grass to collards. Sell your eggs. I can make it work at $2 a dozen for eggs.
