If you are filling the channels in the incubator and running water out of the holes, you are going to have higher humidity. Humidity is controlled by surface area. I just put my eggs into lock down last night and I run my bator pretty dry for incubation (30-35%) until lockdown. That is maintained by one channel in the bator having water in it. For lock down, I filled 2 channels and the humidity went up to 69%. It is really crucial to successful hatches to have a calibrated (preferably by you) hygrometer in the incubator. The ones that come with the cheaper styrofoam incubators are notoriously wrong. I love my styrofoam incubator but I completely ignore the humidity readings.
