This morning when I went to check on my quail, there was one who was laying on the ground flapping her wings, unable to get up. It surprised me because this was the first time anything like this happened to my quail! I took her out and put her in a separate cage with hay. She had food and water that she could reach without having to get up (and she did eat and drink.) I was thinking she might’ve jumped up and hit her head and got paralyzed or the other quail did something to break her leg... whatever it was she can move her head, wings and her right leg but her left leg is limp. I put vitamins in her water and I made a little nest of hay to prop her up. Is there anything I can do for this quail besides paying $100 for a vet visit? Is it possible to maybe make a cast? Please help me!!!

Have any of you guys ever had a bird with a broken bone? I really just need to know how to fix a broken leg. Thank you so much!!!

I have had birds with broken bones. I just put them down. They don't ever seem to heal right. And definently not worth a vet bill.

I think we should give it a chance , do you have any advice on what to do ?
Honestly my advise would be to put it down and end its suffering. Injuries and the treatment there of are extremely stressful to game birds.
What I *think* @Gray Farms is saying is that game birds (Quail) are not that tame and are more prone to stress than let's say a Chicken. So treating them for injuries and other conditions that require handling/checking wounds, etc. could actually stress them out more and even send them over the edge.
