I have a black chicken and recently she had just always stood in a spot and did not move. I’m not sure if she is sick or not, but I suspect she is. Occasionally she would have watery eyes. I am not really sure about her age as we had adopted her as an adult chicken. I also have never weighed her, but I think she is heavier than the others since her size is big. Yesterday, she was just standing there and would sometimes only walk a few steps. I only found out yesterday, so I am not really sure how long she has been sick, but I suspect she was probably already ill a few days before. The other chickens are not exhibiting these symptoms, they seem healthy. I haven’t seen any bleeding, injury or broken bones, but one day before sunset, I came to close their coop door, I saw her jump onto the roosting stick, but after a few moments she fell off the stick, this happened another time before she successfully sat on the stick without falling down, so I not sure if her feet have any problems.
I don’t really know what happened. Yesterday, I came to feed the chickens in the morning, when I noticed that she was just standing there, looking sad and troubled. She needed some encouragement before eating a little and seemed to have no appetite. She also drank a bit of water, but with encouragement. She has been eating chicken food, but she ate a bit of cabbage yesterday and that was the only other food she ate. I haven’t done any treatment so far because I’m not sure if she is sick yet and I’m not sure what type of illness she is going through, but I have separated her from the other chickens. I hope that I can treat her myself completely, without going to the vet. I hope that she would get well soon since she has been a very loving and kind chicken to me.
Here are some photos, I hope that they will show some information.
