Help I cracked an egg

I was topping up the water in my incubator this morning (day6) but I dropped the glass cup onto the side of the egg tray onto one of the eggs cracking it.
The membrane is intact and the egg is fertile.
I have put wax around the cracks to stop air getting in and drying it up but will it still be ok

I have heard that you can use wax or clear nail polish. I heard the clear nail polish from a friend. Personally I would go with the wax I think that polish would have a nasty smell. But that's just me. I also don't polish my nails. Maybe they make a low odor one?

There is every chance that it will be ok. But it will be a time will tell situation I’m afraid.

a friend of mine hatched one. as long as inner membrane is not damaged there is a chance.

Give it a go can’t hurt. Wax or nail polish to seal. Now it is wait and see. Good Luck!

I put crayola crayon wax on one of mine that I cracked. I held the crayon over a candle, then, while it was still drippy, "drew" over the cracks. He hatched perfectly fine. I don't recall exactly how far along he was. It was fairly early on, but it was to the point where I could see exactly where the embryo was in the egg. I say give it a shot at least. The worst that can happen is it won't work, which is what you're going with by default if you don't try it.

I have the exact situation. Happened about 10 days ago, waxed it. Candled it today in prep for lockdown...so far so good. Only time will tell...

It may be my last one out...but the waxed egg made it. Here is the chick just as it tumbles out.

I was concerned because the wax ran around the zip line on the egg (mental note for next time) and the shell had been pecked out but it hadn't broken through the membrane...then it was rammed by another chick...and bam out it came.
