How old is he? And how much is he being fed?

The reason I ask is that Cornish X aren't really built to be kept long term, especially with unlimited access to food. The breed will consume endlessly to the point that jumping down from the roostbar could cripple them or their bodymass just becomes so high that their heart can't keep up.

Typically, the Cornish X are harvested at around 2.5-3 months to prevent the above issues from happening. Is he on a decently strong diet to maintain a survivable weight?

I am sorry, I know this is stressful.
People sometimes get cornish cross, not knowing that their survival rate, past a couple of months is very low. I have never had one, so I'll let someone else give you advice.

I've had many Cornish Xs; even at 3 months old, they commonly walk clumsily. Well fed and at 9 months, I'm not surprised he's down.
