Help I don’t know what I have

Can anyone please tell me weather I have a male or female light Sussex I personally think it’s a male but it’s 12 months old and hasn’t crowed and also it isn’t the head of the flock as a rooster usually is if you have any info please help me

I have just witnessed it breeding one of my hens so I obviously dont have a hen please

Mounting is different than breeding in that it is about dominance not reproducing.

It is common for hens to mount other hens.

It is disturbing but normal.

Can you get some good close pics of the saddle feathers. Crowing and breeding/mounting aren't always male specific traits. Sometime hens crow, sometimes males don't crow, sometime hens will mount other hens to assert dominance.
