HELP I have a dead chicken

Welcome to BYC. Valbazen is probably the best to use since it gets all chicken worms with one dose of 1/2 ml given orally per bird, then repeat in 10 days. Toss any eggs for a total of 24 days because of any dewormer residue. SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer is also very good. Normal dosage is also 1/2 ml orally for each chicken, and repeat in 10 days. If your chickens would have any difficult to get rid of worms such as cecal, capillaria, or gapeworm, then the dose should be give 5 days in a row for the SafeGuard. Many people worm twice a year, depending on how warm and wet your conditions are.

ACV nor DE (diatomotaceous earth) will treat worms.

When i have a surprise dead chicken, i take time to individually examine all of my chickens. I look for underweight chickens, any external parasites and review my records to see when they were last wormed. If i find underweight chickens, i treat the flock for coccidia and then worm them. I also do an autopsy on chickens that die. Casportpony has some very informative photos on this site from autopsies she had performed.
