Help I have a mean chicken and also not laying

You might not see them eat the oyster shell, but just leave it in a dish and they'll pick at it when they're in the mood to. I never really see mine eat it, but it slowly disappears and then I refill the dish.

There's a lot of ideas on here for "boredom busters" for chickens. You could try some of them out and see if the mean girls attitude improves. People suggest hanging a head of lettuce or cabbage for them to pick at, or give them a big old pile of leaves, sticks, grass, etc and let them dig through it. It gives them something to do besides pick on each other. Can you let them out more often? That would help a lot too. Mine get cranky if they're confined too long.

I really thank you for taking the time to answer me to help. I am really Co fused. I do not want to hurt my chickens kidneys. I just bought a large 40 pounds bag of the feather fixer. One hen is still laying. I tried that calcium, they would not eat. None of them would eat at all.I hope I can return it now is opened. I will try that. How do I keep the hens that are not laying not to eat.Thank you again.
No need to panic, one bag of feather fixer is not going to kill them, just use it up.
But cut out some(most) of the other 'treats'....so they are getting plenty of protein for grow feathers while molting.

Leave the oyster shell out, they don't need it when not laying, so won't eat much of it, and the FF has plenty.
Be patient, changes take time.

Thank you all. I'm headed to Tractor Supply now to get the 20% protein feed they actually said they would take the feather fixer food back so that's good. When I get back I will measure the coop and the Run

That's great!

As @aart said... a short time of too much calcium won't be detrimental, it's the long term ones who never change that can have problems.

Also, as stated... they will access the oyster shell when they need to. Some who don't may peck at it here and there but they won't be overdosing because it isn't mixed in the feed.

If you watch, TSC puts out coupons for chicken feed to.

Well I am back. I let them out, and changed the food. Added the oyster in a bowl. The coop is 5 ft 12 inches long. It also has a Second floor. The run is 4 ft. I am in Florida. I took extra pictures . I seen some blood in the coop after I let them out. Looks like it may be Kelly, tbe bramas that gets picked on. I will check them when they go back in the coop. It was where she sleeps not to much blood. That is the first time I seen any blood. Lots of feathers from the bramas . I do not where I would keep Penny, she is the mean chicken. We have a cage but that is not large at all.Thank you again
