I hatched a silkie chick in my bra... Yup... Was quite funny actually. Mama kicked it out, took off with the chicks. Poor little egg was so cold, and she would not get back in the nest to finish the job. They were already 3 days over due... This was the middle of January... SO, I warmed it up the best way I could.. between the girls. I had it there for several hours then I heard chirping. It had internally pipped. A few hours later, it externally pipped, a bit later it started zipping. Now I had egg chips poking the girls, and Mama was back in the nest, so back the egg went under mom just as the chick finally zipped all the way around. Funniest thing ever. I did take a pic, but since I am well established at the bank, I will not share... looks like an egg in a butt crack... AHAHAHAAHAA

OK. Well, last night I decided to get the rest of the shell and membrane off it, and there was no blood and it was breathing and sleeping when I went to bed. Checked it this morning and it had passed in the night.

I feel like I did all I could for the little one. I could beat myself up over the "I should have.." but I'm not going to. The other one, the one I did a float test to and it looked dead but I kept it anyway, is doing awesome and is as cute as anything.
We have sold 8/10 of mama turkeys babies so I'm thinking on seeing if she'll foster this one. Any thoughts? Her babes and this lonely chick are all bright yellow.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your chick. You did a lot more than I would have, but at one time, I might have done the same.

Just wondering.... Y'all females are lucky to have a warm moist spot to incubate. Only place I have is.... well.... I wouldn't be able to sit and I SURE and havin one zip out there....

But thank you for the weeks worth of fun.

I have a name suggestion for them since every one else has kinda chimed in. How about Nip or Tuck. For the baby that survived.

Hilarious thread! sorry your little one passed. Just curious, if you have an incubator, why'd you use the bra? If both hatched I'd name one Floppy and one Perky. Of course the only egg I could hatch in my bra is a serama.
