This morning went out to check on my flock of beautiful chickens and found one of my production reds just sitting on the ground. She is normally very active. I watched as I feed everyone and she did not move.
I picked her up to check on her and she looks to have lost a considerable amount of weight. After setting back down I noticed that she pooped a white/yellowish liquid and her rear end has quite a bit of it on her too.
After separating her from the flock I checked the rest of the girls and they seem ok... But I noticed some dark brown liquid poop in the pen.
I don't know what to do.
Please help.

Check her breathing and make sure you don't hear any wheezing or see any signs of respiratory illness. Check her crop and make sure it's functioning as it should.if she seems extra sleepy and puffed up and lethergic I might consider treating for coccidosis. Cocci CAN be present in older birds and bloody stool does not have to be present for them to have it. They usually have a dierhea that's slightly foamy and runny with cocci.if you believe it could be cocci you can treat with amprollium, corid, or amprol. They are the same medication and kill all strains of cocci. Also how long has it been since she's been wormed? Question when you say yellow poo is the urate yellow as well? Try to rule out the possibilities and if you could please list her exact symptoms that you have noticed in detail. It would be a great help in figuring out what's wrong.

Thanks for the reply... I am trying to figure out how this works. I had a local farmer come by and see my sick chick and he said for sure it was coccidosis. But this afternoon my little red feathered lady died. I have treated everyone with an antibiotic mixed in their drinking water. All the other hens look really heathy... Hope they stay that way.
I read on the instructions for the antibiotic that you shouldn't give the treatment to hens who lay for human consumption... Does that mean I won't be able to use their eggs from here on out?
I was asked if they had been wormed... Yes last early summer before they started laying. I plan to worm them again as soon as the antibiotic is done.
Pretty sad to see one of my girls die.
Thanks for answering my plea for help.
