I noticed my 14 mo old hen not as perky as the rest, and a cople days ago I noticed her weight loss and squishy crop. I have never had a chicken with this problem before. She is pale, weak, squishy crop thats about the size of a golf ball and gross breath., she has the runs and is very dehydrated. I have been reading the threads and read to make her vomit to clear out that crop, but nobody said how to do that. Can anyone tell me how? I can do the yogurt/acv, and monistat if needed, I cant give her anything until I get that crop empty, I tried holding her upside down and massaging the crop nothing happened. I have her in the house in a cat carrier with hay and its starting to stink in here, Im going to put a lamp above her to warm her up, but she seems to be weaker last night and today. Im afraid she might not make it. Any help with her is appreciated.
Update on the sick lady, She died,
just wasnt strong enough to get thru it. When she died and was laying on her side, the stuff that was in her crop came out and it was a really dark green liquid and smelled bad. I had been giving her water and plain yogurt w/acv and softened bread. I could not empy her crop, so I think thats what did her in.
