Yup, chances are very good your mama hen can do absolutely everything for her chicks better than YOU could.

I wouldn't even add a heat lamp. Mama has great insulation and the babies have her to keep them warm. They'll be fine.

CONGRATS

You will find these chicks to be the healthiest you have ever raised. Not to mention smarter (well maybe not smarter as chickens are none too bright) but more aware of things around them. They will feather faster and be outside in just a few days scooting like waterbugs. They will scoot in under Mom when they get cool.

I leave mine where the rest of the flock can see them and will let them out if I am close by. When it comes time for the move to the big coop I rarely have trouble.
