HELP I have too many drakes

make a “bachelor coop!” a separate area for the drakes so they can stay with just each other!

I was thinking of doing something like that but would they also need to be separated when they do outside too? We let the them out in the morning to free range in the yard and back inside at around 5 but the coup has wire fence around do they can go inside when they want and we just check up on them every night.

give the duck hen and the chickens half a day of free range, and the drakes the other half of the day

in the winter they may be able to free range together

So my parents got my brother 9 ducks and 9 chickens for his birthday a couple months ago and they stay in the same coup and get along very well. But I realized that we have 5 drakes and only 4 females which is not a good ratio and we do not a rooster. The drakes are very big compare to the females and chickens. I told my parents about the issue because I fear that the drakes can hurt the ducks and hens and even kill them. We are not experience in raising chickens or ducks so they just brushed it off and told me that it's going to be fine and yelled at me for overthinking. Can anyone tell me what to do because I do not want anyone to get hurt. I don't know if this info can help but they stay inside in the coup at night and we have a fence around the coup for them to stay out in until they feel like going to bed. We let them out in the morning to free-range and back in at around 5. Also I saw one the buff drake doing it with the only female a couple days, so does that mean their mating season is coming?

I have a fear of any kind of birds so I can't even go near them.

This is part of the reason that your parents aren't listening to you.

The fact that your brother is only 9 (compared to you at 17) doesn't give him any less credibility in their eyes. They see you as an attention-seeking teenager who is milking her phobia.

Help your brother learn about this topic, and then give him a chance to talk to your parents. Beyond that, there really isn't anything that you can, or should, do.
