Help! I just got some free 10 day old incubated eggs! *hatching!!*

Nope, no more chicks. I have 13 chicks and one isn't doing so well. It's not standing up and the other chicks are pecking at him so I separated him from the others, and fed him some water with a syringe. Is there anything else I can do for him?

Also, I feel really dumb for not realizing this sooner, but I realized that I had more than 18 eggs. I never actually counted till yesterday. I had 24 eggs, so my hatch rate is more like 54%

Anyway, I'm up to my elbows in baby chicks, and all but the one are doing well.

Thanks for asking!

Still a lot of chicks !! The one that is not standing does he try to at all ? Do his legs go out to the side ?? Do a search on spraled leg, its when the chicks legs go out to the side and they cant stand !! It is fixable if caught early. Let me know if you think this is what it is !!

you really shouldn't use a syringe to squirt water as it will easily go into the lungs. you should be able to drip it along the beak and have the chick take it in itself. some people use the poly-vi-sol without iron to help chicks, if you search it you should be able to find out the dosage. good luck with your baby
