Help!!i may have done something wrong.

So i noticed the chicks hadn’t hatched and its day 23. It was chirping and moving so i did a small hole in the membrane of the egg so that the chick can breathe. The outer shell was already broken. Have i done anything wrong? Please forgive me if i sound like an idiot i don’t want anything to happen to the chicks

They are under the hen. Is he gonna be okay should i leave it? Is the air gonna be bad for him

I don’t think the air is bad at this point. I’d leave it to the broody to help the chick to hatch.
