Well this is my first time hatching eggs in an incubater. I watched a video before hand and the woman said to put the pointy side of the egg up. Earlier i ran across an article saying to ALWAYS put pointy side down or the chick can suffocate when trying to hatch. I should have double checked but i didnt and now im on day 15. What should i do? I will be heartbroken if none survive. Is it too late to flip them??? Help!

I reckon you should flip them... But not NOW and so SUDDENLY

Today, put them all gently on their sides, and tomorrow you can completely flip them.

Chicks in eggs develop quite similarly despite the way that they are turned. In nature, the eggs are regularly turned by the hens.

They should be fine. Just keep a close eye on them when they are hatching.

Hopefully someone with more experience can help but I think you still have time. Put them the correct way now and when you go to lockdown on day 18, I'm assuming you will lay the eggs on their sides, which is what most people I know do. before you do this, candle and mark (draw a line with a #2 pencil) where the air cell is and put that side up when laying the egg down. The chicks should move into the correct position to hatch.
Once we had a baby with its head in the small end of the egg. My husband had to help the chick out, but no problems from there on in. Good luck.

I was not suggesting to move them rapidly or urgently, I was asking to see if there was something like a turner in the way. Like others have said, I'd lay them on their sides gently.

Some people stop turning at day 14, so I think you'd be OK to just leave them on their sides for the rest of the incubation. If the air cell is drawing down, put that side up like dekel said.

Are they shipped eggs or local?
