HELP!!! I need REAL numbers!!!

Kraken Farmer, I LOVE all your project ideas!!! Actually, Barred EEs, Blue Barred, and (if I can figure out how) Blue Laced Buff EEs are already on my list of projects I would like to try. The whole reason I have the lavender orps on my list is because I want to toy around with maybe getting some lavender EEs. If only I could get lavender eggs, too, lol!! Anyway, I also really like the Rhode-bar idea, although I am partial to the blues, blacks, splashes, and lavenders. But I really like the eye-catching patterns, so I'd probably enjoy a Rhode-bar, too. Too bad I'm not a big fan of RIRs....too many violent roos attacked me as a kid.....lol. Thanks for the well wishes, and right back at ya!!!

Most numbers, when you find them will be for their first laying season ... The following year they may take an extra week or month off to moult ... As they get older, they tend to lay less number of eggs ... If you plan to replace them every year then it doesn't matter ...

Numbers can depend on the climate ... Real hot or cold, can make a difference.

Some lines of the same breed are not that hearty, and will not lay as good ... Some have been bred for the hatchery to lay more than the heritage breed would ... Some people with Orpington's complain because they only get 2-3 eggs a week half of the year, if they are lucky, and haven't gone broody! Others claim 5-7 a week, 9 plus months of the year!

Food quality also effects how many eggs are laid.

Well, I live in western central Arkansas, and it is always SUPER hot and humid here during the summer, so that is always a concern....as for food, I plan on growing my own feed (working on getting the garden set up now, as a matter of fact....should start growing in the spring!!), in addition to giving them treats such as leftover veggie greens and even some of the veggies and fruits from the "human food" garden (which is already producing). I would like to feed and care for them as naturally as possible. I also plan on worming them naturally.
