HELP - I need Silkie Comb Pictures

I get people asking all the time what the standard is for Silkie Combs on Roosters.
I would like to make a chart showing the different looks that some silkies have.
So I need clear Head shots.
After all a picture is worth a thousand words.
I will most likley crop the pictures to only show the comb.

I have seen a huge differences in color variation, Sizes & Shape/Texture.
And I would like as many examples as possible.

Make sure that you put a disclaimer on the chart that it is only a representation of the combs, and not any other part of the bird....​

A true Silkie has a walnut comb, which looks almost just like half a walnut shell, the color should be mulberry. To tell some one or show someone any other style of combs may lead to unexpected results. In most shows the wrong comb is an immediate disqualification.


hinkjc picture is the style of comb you are looking for on a Silkie, nicely centered on the head should have folds and a center crease.

I am going to make a comb chart for people who are new to the Silkie Breed.

I think they need to see a variety of combs so they nkow what to look for.

If they are pets none of it matters, But I get a lot of people asking about feet and combs
So a page dedicated to that on my website would come in hand to some.
