Help! I ordered fertilized eggs!!!!

Oh so fun!!! So did you put yours under her April 29? Morning or afternoon?

yes the 29th and I think around 6pm. so a bit later than you. I started with some of mine in the incubator and some under the broody (I bought the eggs) then they were switched around a bit as some were getting broken under her from the others going in to lay, started with 16 eggs I think 4 ended up broken and 1 was clear.... But then I have others in the incubator so once lockdown came I gave her all of them so she now has the 11.

I peeked at them this morning and no external pips but I have some internal pips and hear peeping from the eggs. Others look close to internal pips. So thinking maybe these ones won't hatch till tomorrow. Normally my eggs seem to hatch on day 20 no matter if in the incubator or under a broody. LOL

Oh wow, hatch twinsies! Sounds like your broody's a real supermom. Here's to her acing it again with her larger clutch! Fingers crossed for all 11!

not a super mom. I wish. I started with some in the incubator and some under her. She ended up having I think 4 broken from other girls. And she keeps either going back to another nest box because someone is in laying or just because. She is very protective as a mom so I am hoping that goes well, just worried that as a chick is hatching she will go to the wrong box and another one will go in there and hurt the chick. Good thing I have camera's in there so hopefully she stays put while I work today then I am home and can keep checking!

we have the same hatch date and mine are under a broody as well!!!! Mine raised a chick last year and did well, hopefully she does just as good this year with more since she has 11 eggs under her! LOL

this is my first time hatching! I have no pips and I hear no peeping. I’m worried they’re all dead. And it’s too late to candle right?

nope not too late to candle. my hen still gets up and goes to grab food etc even after they pip so the 2 seconds you have them out to candle and slide back under her is fine. most of mine are very quiet when the peep so I only hear them if up near my ear. some I can hear when I candle them, but I don't hear them under my hen at all. Good luck it is so hard not to worry!!!!!

Mine got off the eggs today while I was at work and went back to the wrong nest! UGH!!! another hen went in there to lay so at least kept them warm for that time but they were still without anyone on them for probably 2.5 hrs! I candled when I got home before I put her back on. I have some pips (external) and some internal. I saw movement in probably about half the other half I didn't but I also didn't look for long since I wanted to get her back on them and warm. Just glad I saw movement still in the pipped ones. She SHOULD stay on the rest of the day/night and hopefully some hatch that she realizes she needs to go back to that box tomorrow or she just stays on it. I am at least home tomorrow and have a camera in there so I can see and head right out if she isn't on them.
