More than welcome. I had a fellow BYCer save my hatching season by loaning me
a 3rd Brinsea Mini Advance last month..
Best,

If you've never hatched eggs, I'd absolutely wait for he experienced person with the proven incubator. I would never use an unknown to me incubator on expensive eggs. One temp spike and you're done.
Yes, I agree with donrae. I think the Lord just caused you to dodge a bullet by not making connection with this guy.
Even if one less chick hatches because you waited, is better than a spike and losing all of them.
Best,
Karen

We're in Dalton Gardens but I think we'll just call our 4H leader in the morning and ask her what to do, I'll hoprfully have an answer tommorow! Thanks!

Yes, 3riverschick you are totally right!!! I never really thought about that but it must really mean we have to wait for this 4H leader with the incubator & experience! It obviously wasn't meant to be, getting this incubator from this guy! Thank you so much @3riverschick I've made the decision- wait Monday for my leader!

UPDATE: We just called my leader and it turns out she is actually coming this evening! But she also said we could get this incubator & hatch them ourselves too. We are going to get this incubator anyway because we have the money and it looks like a great one. And eventually we will need an incuabtor anyway. So now the real question is should we do it ourselves, have her tell us exactly what to to and call her if we have questions, or wait until this evening and have her do it for us? I'd like to do it ourselves so we can have the experience of incubating these eggs and having them hatch and also candling them. And we don't feel like we are leaving her to do all the work and there's nothing in it for them really. On the other hand, if we wait another 10 hours we could have her do it for us.
HELP, WHAT DO WE DO?

I missed the rest of this thread.....What did you decide? Are your Cemani eggs in an incubator now? How many days? Have you candled them yet to see if there are embryos?

We ended up incubating them ourselves! Everything is actually going pretty well! We are using the dry incubation method which people say is the best one and gives them 95-100% hatch rates. The only problem is that the air cells are detached from the shipping process. Hopefully some will still hatch!

You can check my other threads, they have more detailed info, and about the Dry Incubation Method! Thanks!
