HELP!!! I think I killed this chick. :(

So I had a hatch done, it had been 3 days post the hatch date. I had 2 eggs both very dark shells so I took them outside to open to see what may have happened. Opened the first...it was a quitter,didn't fully form. Easily cracked and opened the air sac end of the 2nd and as soon as I pulled a chunk of shell off I saw inside this white "skin" an actively wiggling little chick...WHAT DO I do??? I feel so bad as I'm thinking I probably just killed this chick.

Moisten it and check for veins. If there are no veins peal some of the membrane so it can breathe and put it back in the incubator

I would go very slow. have flour on hand to dab any blood. Let it stay in egg!!!

Ok so I very so lightly used a damp finger and kinda dampened the membrane, I opened just a tiny spot using tweezers no blood,opened a little more all was doing ok. Was able to open enough to see beak and then I got a tiny drop of blood and instantly stopped. No "bleeding"just one drop so I put it back it's wiggling around so hopefully it will hatch on out itself.

I will. I feel so bad. But it hadn't pip'd or anything and it was 3 days post hatch date.

Don't feel bad, lucky for that chick you did an egg Topsy or it would just be sitting in the garbage. At least it has a chance now.

So the little chick didn't make it. It didn't even attempt to get out of the shell. I tried removing just a little more and helped it get it's beak out. It laid there in the incubator about an hour before passing away. I think it had been in the shell just to long.
