There should also be a license to have children.I would have offered to buy the whole lot, lol... there should be a license to own pets!
I think that takes things a bit far. Pretty draconian if you ask me, and it would not make for better parents. There should also be a license to have children.![]()
You don't need a license to drink or smoke. You just need to be a certain age to do it legally. That's very different than needing a license for things.Maybe not a license butI just think Its weird we cant smoke or drink until 21 but can create and bring life all willy nilly.. lol... but hey oh well
Yeah, in a little over 25 years in the mid 20th century their population doubled to about 1 Billion and in 1970 they decided to limit people to 2 children. That wasn't helping enough because people were living longer so the population kept growing. By 1980 they took the draconian step of punishing people who had more than one child. That was inspired by a member of the central government after reading two books - "Limits to Growth" and "A Blueprint for Survival".I think that takes things a bit far. I believe China does something similar.
I recommend you watch the documentary "one child nation", which explains in more detail what is involved with China's method of population control. I don't care how overpopulated the earth is, I could never condone their population control measures. Well after they realized their one child rule caused infanticide of all girl babies which resulted in entire towns populated by all men and no women, they finally changed the law again to allow two children.
Maybe they should have said, ;zero children rather than one child.
Actually, I'm good with slowing or better yet reversing population growth.
In the following video, you can see how densely populous China and India were as far back as the Han Dynasty in 1 AD.
We only have one planet and we haven't found another suitable one to overpopulate. That won't likely happen till long after we've completely used this one up.
