HELP i think my chicken is coughing to death

thanks to all the great people who posted to my story! i am getting ready to go and let them out for the day and i will check my girl and see if she is ok. i am going to check her out real good and i will keep y'all posted. thanks again for all your help

ok, i'm in from letting the "fat chicks" out for the day. I caught "shirley" and tried to check her out. she would have nothing to do with the pencil in the beak, but I did feel up and down her throat. the lump i felt last night seems to be gone and she isn't coughing anymore.
I just think it is a case of gluttony and eating too fast. they are crazy when i first let them out to free-range. it's like they have never had grass before. they fight over worms and anything else they can get ahold of and then gobble it down as fast as they can.
I will keep an eye on her today, but I think she will be ok.
thanks again to all the great people who are here to help us in need.

I live in the country. in Hamburg, IL
things have been rough, but i'm getting by.
We were going to try this small chicken farm to make some extra money. Things were going good til he got pneumonia, (he already had lung issues) which caused him to have a heart attack. I miss him so much. So now i'm trying to raise all these chickens by myself.
he would have been proud to see all the new babies I hatched about 3 months ago.
thanks for your concern

Oh, I'm glad she seems to have swallowed whatever was making her choke like that! That video was excellent in helping diagnose her! Good thinking!
I wish I could help, too. Again, so sorry for the loss of your husband. Mine is part of my soul and I can imagine how much I'd miss him.
